More Success for Gemma at County Week

Stanmore member Gemma Allman made her South Region County Week debut for Middlesex Ladies at Muswell Hill winning three of her six matches.

Her first match against Hampshire was vs ex-Curtis Cup player Kerry Smith where despite being only +2 for 14 holes, Gemma lost 5+4.

The next day she teamed up with Priya Pankhania to win her foursomes 2 up, one of her opponents was Lizzie Prior who is Surrey County Champion. In the afternoon Gemma lost 2+1 to Martha Lewis in a very close match.

Against Kent, Gemma + Priya were unlucky to lose on the 18th in the foursomes but in the afternoon Gemma beat Sandy Catford 2 up after winning the last three holes. Kent won the overall match 5-4.

On Friday Gemma beat Alice Barnes in the singles 2+1 and her point contributed to an excellent 7-2 victory against Sussex.

County Week winners were Hampshire who progress to the finals which are being held at Seacroft GC in Lincolnshire. Middlesex with their young team were fourth and did really well to finish just one point behind Kent who were third.
