Captain's Update
We're now well into our programme
of post Christmas winter matches. And hurtling headlong towards the John Dawson Cup competition, AGM and dinner on
Wednesday Feb 29 - it is a leap year, I haven't gone that dippy - yet. The notice and information for this will
be going up on our notice board shortly, you really should stay, enjoy the AGM and the dinner. It is always
a good competition, and an opportunity to rekindle our friendships before we embark on the spring and summer seasons.
Come and join in.............
The AGM also of course marks the start of our new Captain's year, and
we will I'm sure support Andy by being present then, and throughout the year. It seems that winter is receeding,
because the first match after the AGM - Andy's first appearance as Section Captain - is an afternoon 'summer'
fixture. Though having watched the forecast, I think winter may have an ace up it's sleeve yet.
The AGM
also gives you all the chance to air any views or suggestions about your golf section that you have been harbouring,
and to be involved in the future direction. There are some important issues on the horizon; and as always we need
to keep new ideas and new blood coming into the section, and ultimately onto the committee and into office. So let's
see a full house for the AGM.
The nights are definitely showing signs of drawing out; it's 4.30 and still
quite light! So clean the shoes, dust off the clubs, and come out and get involved.
