Competition Rules

It is imperative all competitors read the appropriate competition rules in the Competition Rule Book for each competition. This is kept opposite the entrance to the Ladies Locker Room.

The prize-money for the Winners and Runners Up of the monthly competitions are credited to members' swipe cards for use in the bar or restaurant.

The Ladies Section runs its own Competitions under separately published rules.

Competition Rules

  1. It is imperative all competitors read the appropriate competition rules in the Competition Rule Book for each competition.

  2. In knockout matchplay competitions it is the equal responsibility of both competitors to contact their opponent(s) to arrange the match, not less than 14 days before the closing date for the round. It is not acceptable to offer a single date and/or time for the playing of the match. Multiple dates and times should be ideally offered. Dates offered must be weekend dates and weekday dates are only acceptable if both parties agree to a week day date.

  3. All matches must be played by the date indicated for the round. The competitors not complying with the foregoing will forfeit the match. THE COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE WILL NOT ALLOW EXTENSIONS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. This does not apply to the final of the Competition.

  4. The finals of most of the Club competitions are played under the jurisdiction of a referee. Upon reaching the final it is the responsibility of the finalists to agree a date for the final and to request the appointment of a referee from the Competitions Committee. The Competitions Committee reserves the right to declare any final not played in the attendance of a referee as null and void.
